In its explanation, the EEC refers to data from Kazakhstan, indicating that delays in passing border control are related to the implementation of planned control measures. "These measures are temporary and targeted, aimed at establishing order at the border, including combating the illegal circulation of goods, which poses a threat to national security," the authorized bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan are quoted as saying.
Kazakhstan highly values its neighborly relations with Kyrgyzstan, viewing it as a strategic partner and ally. The country hopes for mutual understanding and cooperation to prevent illegal actions that cause serious harm to the economies of both countries and their international reputations. The EEC also emphasized that respect and partnership between the two states have always been important. Kazakhstan will continue its strategy, not yielding to temporary difficulties. "The fight against illegal transportation serves the interests of both countries. Partnership should be based on lawful actions, while smuggling undermines both the economy and the stability of integration processes," the commission stated.
Furthermore, priority areas of work for the EAEU in combating shadow trade were announced. To ensure the legality of goods circulation and reduce the number of customs inspections, mechanisms such as navigation seals are being implemented, and the system of labeling and traceability of goods is being improved.
