Kanybek Dosmambetov shared information about preventive measures and the installation of thermal imagers at airports during a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh.

At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Minister of Health Kanybek Dosmambetov reported that measures are being implemented in Kyrgyzstan in accordance with existing algorithms to combat the Nipah virus.

He noted that special attention is being paid to students arriving from India: they are met at the airport and immediately directed for medical examination.

“We are also analyzing the approaches of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, exchanging information with them. The situation is under control, and there is no serious threat,” the minister added.

Dosmambetov reported that additional funds have been allocated by the president for the installation of automatic thermal imagers at airports. Currently, such equipment is only available at Manas Airport, but it will soon be installed at the airports in Osh, Tamchy, Karakol, and other international terminals.

The minister emphasized that the Nipah virus does not spread like COVID-19, but only through physical contact, urging the population not to create panic.
