The Bishkek City Court confirmed the decision to impose a fine of 10,000 soms on a woman who slapped her ex-husband. This was reported by lawyer Nurbek Toktakunov on his social media, commenting on the situation.
"Unfortunately, I have sad news about a precedent that negatively affects women. The court upheld the decision of the Sverdlovsk District Court, which imposed a fine of 10,000 soms on the woman for the slap, despite the fact that her former partner had previously received 16 warnings from law enforcement about the inadmissibility of violence, both physical and psychological, with the issuance of protection orders that, unfortunately, do not fulfill their protective function," the lawyer noted.
The man was sentenced to 4 years under the article "Abuse," but with the application of probation. However, taking advantage of probation, he continued to stalk the woman, ignoring the sentence and protection orders," the lawyer added.
