The Ministry of Health calms fears: Nipah virus is under control, there is no reason to panic.
According to him, the ministry has studied the experience of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in combating this virus and has developed an appropriate action algorithm.
“All planned activities are being carried out according to the approved program. We are actively exchanging information with neighboring countries such as Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Currently, students arriving from India are being examined. The president has allocated funds from his fund for the installation of thermal cameras at airports. So far, such a thermal camera has only been installed at Manas Airport, but in the future, they will also appear at the airports in Osh, Karakol, and other cities. The situation is under control, so there is no cause for concern. We have already issued an official press release regarding the Nipah virus, and there is no need to create artificial panic. This virus is not transmitted by airborne droplets like COVID-19; it requires direct physical contact for transmission. We are examining everyone arriving from India,” the minister added.
