Dentists: Almost all residents of Kyrgyzstan face cavities

According to the statement by the president of the Dental Association of the Kyrgyz Republic, Abibilla Kalbaev, dental caries is found in the overwhelming majority of the population in Kyrgyzstan — from 93 to 97%. This was announced on the air of "Birinchi Radio".

Kalbaev emphasized that this particularly affects children; however, the adult population also suffers from this ailment to a significant extent.

Periodontal diseases rank second among dental problems in Kyrgyzstan. According to him, about 80% of the country's residents face this issue, mainly among the adult population. Periodontal diseases are also present among children, but to a lesser extent.

He also noted that recently, the focus of the country's dental service activities is shifting towards the prevention of these diseases.
