In the Kochkor District, a meat fair was held: horse meat for 600 soms, lamb for 630.
The aim of the fair was to provide more affordable prices for vulnerable groups of the population. The organizers were the Sary-Bulak rural council and one of the societies for people with disabilities.
At the event, meat from one horse, ten lambs (toks), and goat meat were offered for sale.
The prices for the products were as follows:
horse meat — 600 soms per 1 kg (including kazy, karta, and chuchuk);
lamb — 630 soms per 1 kg;
there was also poultry meat available.
Additionally, on that day, other sellers offered beef at a price of 630 soms per 1 kg, and one beef shank cost 150 soms.
It was reported that to stabilize meat prices, at the direction of the district authorities, the meat fair is held every Saturday at the Kochkor district bus station. Local authorities are required to ensure the supply of meat products at reduced prices.
The Antimonopoly Service of the Kyrgyz Republic has set a maximum price for meat in the Kochkor district — 640 soms. Penalties for exceeding this price are as follows: 3,000 soms for the first violation, 16,000 soms for a repeat violation, and 27,000 soms for a third violation.
