On January 31, 2026, a sports event for children called "Winter Celebration - 2026" took place on the slopes of Mount Chon-Tash, aimed at providing active and beneficial winter leisure for the youth. This initiative was reported by the city hall of the capital.
Among the honored guests at the celebration were the mayor of Bishkek, Aybek Junushaliev, and the Minister of Labor, Social Protection, and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kanat Sagynbaev. They congratulated the young participants on the winter holiday, wishing them health, good spirits, and an active lifestyle.
More than 400 children aged 13-15 from four districts of the city participated in the event. Among them were students from rehabilitation centers, boarding schools, and children in difficult life situations.
The celebration included sports games and relays aimed at promoting physical activity, strengthening health, and socializing children.
Participants were also offered a diverse entertainment program that included performances by creative groups, illusionists, and numerous interactive activities. At the end of the celebration, all the children received commemorative gifts and took a group photo together.
The event was organized by the Department of Physical Culture and Sports, Tourism, and Youth Policy of the Bishkek city hall.
It is worth noting that winter sports celebrations for children have been held in Bishkek since 2011 and have become an important tradition supporting a healthy lifestyle and the comprehensive development of the younger generation.
