As part of the intergovernmental program aimed at strengthening the borders with Afghanistan, the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) are working on identifying suppliers for the transfer of weapons and military equipment to the border troops of Tajikistan. This was reported by CSTO Secretary General Taalaibek Masadykov in an interview with the publication "Allies. CSTO".

“We are at the first stage of the program, which includes clarifying and coordinating the lists of weapons, military equipment, and border security means that will be supplied to the Tajik border guards. During this time, suppliers are being identified and contracts are being concluded,” noted Masadykov.

He also emphasized the importance of implementing the targeted program for strengthening the Tajik-Afghan border, a decision that was made by the heads of state in Astana in November 2024.

The CSTO includes countries such as Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Armenia.
