CSTO Begins Implementing Measures to Strengthen the Tajik-Afghan Border
According to information provided by the Secretary General of the CSTO, Taalatbek Masadykov, in an interview with the publication "Allies. CSTO", the organization has begun implementing the Targeted Interstate Program (TIP) for strengthening the border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan. This decision was made by the heads of state in November 2024.
Currently, the CSTO is actively assisting in the implementation of the first stage of the program.
“Work is underway to clarify and agree on the lists of military equipment, armaments, and technical means for border protection that will be transferred to the Border Troops of Tajikistan. Suppliers are also being identified and contract terms are being agreed upon,” Masadykov added.
