Recently, a round table was held in Bishkek, organized by the antimonopoly service under the Ministry of Economy, where issues of pricing in the public catering sector were discussed. Representatives of cafes and restaurants received clear recommendations regarding the inadmissibility of unjustified price increases.

Participants in the meeting were reminded that starting from January 1, 2026, establishments cannot charge separate fees for services such as serving or plating dishes. All expenses must be included in the prices listed on the menu, and the total amount on the bill must correspond to the price list.

During the meeting, the antimonopoly service reported a significant price increase in January, which in some establishments reached over 15%. Market participants explained this by the rising costs of rent, utilities, fuel, food, inventory, as well as increasing wages and tax burdens.

As a result of the discussion, entrepreneurs agreed to optimize prices and introduce 10% discounts on orders and takeout. The HoReCa Club Association will prepare an analysis to develop further steps for stabilizing the pricing situation.

The antimonopoly service emphasized the importance of compliance with legislation by establishments and the protection of consumer rights.
