The air quality improvement project discussed with the World Bank at the Bishkek City Hall
The press service of the mayor's office reported that the discussion focused on several initiatives within the "Air Quality Improvement" project. Among the topics were the concept of a "Green Belt," as well as a pilot project for the implementation of heat pumps in residential buildings and other measures to protect the environment.
Additionally, the mayor's office presented current initiatives, including the construction of an eco-technology plant and the modernization of municipal enterprises such as "Bishkek Heating and Power Plant," "Bishkek Heating Network," and "Bishkek Heat Energy." The cleaning of the riverbeds of the Alamedin and Ala-Archa rivers and the activities of the municipal inspection were also discussed.
"I hope that our cooperation will yield positive results not only in terms of improving air quality but also help to shape Bishkek's image as an environmentally sustainable and green city," noted Mayor Aibek Junushaliev.
The mayor's office also reported that 50,000 seedlings have already arrived for the greening of the capital.
