Green Belt of Bishkek. 50,000 Seedlings Received for the Greening of the Capital
In the capital's city hall, a meeting took place between Bishkek Mayor Aibek Junushaliev and Gayana Minasyan, the World Bank's practice manager for environmental issues in Europe and Central Asia. This was reported by the municipal press service.
During the conversation, current initiatives of the city hall were discussed, implemented within the framework of the "Air Quality Improvement" project. In particular, attention was given to the "Green Belt" concept, a pilot project using heat pumps in residential buildings, and other environmental activities.
The mayor detailed significant projects being implemented in Bishkek, such as the construction of an eco-technological plant, the modernization of the municipal enterprises "Bishkek Heat and Power Plant," "Bishkek Heat Network," and "Bishkek Heat Energy," as well as the cleaning of the Alamudun and Ala-Archa rivers. Special attention was paid to the actions of the Municipal Inspection.
Additionally, the mayor reported that the city received 50,000 seedlings that will be used for greening.
"I hope that our cooperation will lead to improved air quality and help create the image of Bishkek as an environmentally sustainable and green city," noted Aibek Junushaliev.
At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed hope for the continuation of productive and mutually beneficial cooperation.
