According to the ministry's press service, Dosmambetov expressed his gratitude to the UN system for its consistent support of health care reforms. He also noted the significant contribution of UN agencies to the development and implementation of the National Action Plan aimed at ensuring health security, as well as to public health legislation, programs for equal access to medical services, disease prevention initiatives, and emergency preparedness.
The Minister emphasized the key priorities that will define the work of the new team at the Ministry of Health:
- prevention of non-communicable diseases;
- promotion of a healthy lifestyle;
- strengthening the immunization system;
- protection of maternal and child health;
- reduction of maternal mortality.
He also highlighted the need for further development of digital technologies in healthcare, such as electronic medical records, telemedicine, and the establishment of a situational center for rapid response.
Dosmambetov expressed interest in receiving support from the UN system to equip healthcare organizations with modern equipment, increase internship and training programs for medical professionals abroad, and exchange best international practices.
Antje Grave confirmed the UN system's readiness for closer cooperation with the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic. She noted that Kyrgyzstan is participating in a global digital transformation program supported by the UN and offered assistance in the areas of digitalization, immunization, maternal and child health, reproductive health, and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
During the discussion, the parties reviewed the upcoming strategic plans of the UN system for 2026-2027 and the preparation of a new five-year framework cooperation document for 2028-2032, emphasizing the importance of the active involvement of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic in shaping the priorities of joint work.
