Infant Mortality Decreased in Kyrgyzstan

At the final meeting of the Ministry of Health, it was announced that the infant mortality rate in the country has decreased. According to the press service, in 2025 this figure was 13.5 per 1,000 live births, which is 4.2% lower compared to the previous year.

Despite the positive trend, the causes of infant mortality remain the same:

First place is held by perinatal diseases, which account for 65.7% of all cases (1,224 children);
Second place is taken by congenital anomalies (15.5%, or 289 children);
The third position is occupied by respiratory diseases (8.2%, or 152 children).

The main task for 2026 is to continue efforts to reduce the infant mortality rate.
