Bolot Ibragimov points out corruption issues in government institutions

At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Bolot Ibragimov emphasized that the director of the agency responsible for issuing driver's licenses was unable to provide clear explanations regarding the government's position on the proposed reforms.

“Two days ago, representatives from driving schools from different parts of the country—over 100 people—arrived in Bishkek. They were expecting clarifications from the director, but that did not happen. Yesterday he was invited to the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, but he did not show up. His excuse was that due to the reforms, he could not attend parliament. I held a meeting with the driving schools and listened to them for two hours,” Ibragimov said.

According to the deputy, the problem with issuing licenses arose at the intersection of the interaction between driving schools and government bodies. He noted that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has facilitated corruption for many years by selling driver's licenses, and is now trying to close private driving schools and monopolize the training process.

“There is significant misunderstanding among the population. The reputation of government agencies is suffering. If the director cannot provide clear explanations, let someone else come forward and clarify the situation,” Ibragimov added.
