Reduce Road Accidents. 306 Hardware-Software Complexes Will Be Installed in Kyrgyzstan
According to Sasaza, since 2019, 110 such complexes have been implemented in Bishkek and the Chui region as part of the "Safe City" project aimed at improving road safety.
“In the next phase, scheduled for 2026, 306 new hardware and software complexes will be installed in the country. Currently, devices are already operational at the intersection of Akhunbaev and Toktonaliev streets, as well as Botaliev and Molodaya Gvardiya, where serious violations such as driving in the opposite lane are recorded. Additionally, on Chingiz Aitmatov Avenue, there are "Uragan" complexes that monitor compliance with speed limits and the use of seat belts,” the inspector noted.
He added that the main problem on the roads remains speeding. Within the city limits, the maximum allowable speed is 60 kilometers per hour, while outside the city, it is 90. Due to the lack of highways in the country, speed cannot reach 110 kilometers per hour.
It was previously reported that average speed control is being introduced on the roads. As Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Oktobyr Urmambetov explained, testing of this system is taking place on the section of the Bishkek — Tokmok highway using special cameras.
The main goal of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is to assess the effectiveness of a method that records not only a one-time speeding violation but also compliance with speed limits throughout the entire section of the road, which will help reduce the number of traffic accidents and save lives.
