Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan: There is no reason to panic
The Kyrgyz healthcare system is prepared for rapid response to potential epidemic threats. The country's Ministry of Health commented on the situation surrounding the Nipah virus, which is currently being observed in India and has already resulted in human casualties and the implementation of quarantine measures.
To prevent the possible importation of the infection, sanitary and quarantine control at the border has been intensified. Specialists are monitoring the health of incoming travelers and conducting sanitary inspections of vehicles, as well as implementing preventive measures in accordance with established regulations, the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
In addition, the agency maintains constant communication with the World Health Organization and international partners for data exchange and coordination of actions for prevention and rapid response.
It should be noted that the Nipah virus is an acute infectious disease that can cause serious illnesses and inflammation of the brain.
Bats are the primary carriers of this virus. Infection can occur through contact with infected animals, consumption of products containing biological secretions, or close contact with an infected person.
The duration of the illness varies from a few days to two weeks. The main symptoms include high fever, headache, cough, difficulty breathing, weakness, seizures, and altered consciousness.
