The Cabinet of Ministers of the country has approved changes to the procedure for fulfilling international obligations regarding alimony by issuing order No. 1156-t.
According to this document, the central authority responsible for implementing the Convention on the International Recovery of Child Support and Other Forms of Family Maintenance has been designated as the State Enforcement Service under the General Prosecutor's Office.

This order was adopted to fulfill the republic's international obligations and within the framework of the presidential decree dated June 23, 2025, No. 187, which aims to improve the system of enforcement proceedings and the activities of judicial enforcement officers in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The Convention, adopted in The Hague on November 23, 2007, complies with the norms of the Constitution of Kyrgyzstan and does not contradict international agreements in force under the country's legislation.
The main objective of the convention is to create an effective mechanism for the international recovery of child support and other forms of family maintenance. This is achieved through the establishment of a universal system of interaction between the authorities of the participating states, simplifying the submission of applications for alimony decisions, as well as guarantees for the recognition and enforcement of these decisions. In addition, the convention defines effective measures for the prompt enforcement of alimony obligations.
