A screening of the animated film "Beyond" took place in Bishkek, created by director Florence Miailhe, which combines French, Czech, and German traditions. This event was timed to the 63rd anniversary of the Élysée Treaty and the seventh anniversary of the Aachen Treaty, which laid the foundation for reconciliation and partnership between France and Germany.
Before the screening, representatives of diplomatic institutions spoke. The Deputy Ambassador of Germany, Konstantin Selentiy, reminded that the Élysée Treaty, signed on January 22, 1963, was an important milestone in ending the long-standing conflict between the two countries. In 2019, France and Germany renewed their ties through the Aachen Treaty, emphasizing cultural initiatives and international cooperation.

The cultural attaché of the French embassy, Étienne Lancel, emphasized that culture plays a key role in discussing complex historical topics with respect and openness. He noted that the countries have been jointly implementing projects in the fields of art, music, cinema, and education in Kyrgyzstan for several years.

After the guests' speeches, the audience watched the film "Beyond." The plot revolves around two children, Kiona and Adrien, who leave their native village after its destruction. On their journey, they find themselves alone and are forced to continue their travels independently. Along the way, they encounter dangers, random acts of support, and indifference. The journey becomes a process of growing up for them: they learn to navigate complex circumstances and make decisions that determine their future fate.

The animation in the film is done using glass painting techniques, creating soft, dynamic, and emotionally rich frames. This visual style enhances the perception of the story without distracting from the dialogues and events that drive the plot forward.

The screening took place at the Chingiz Aitmatov Cinema House. The film was shown in German with Russian subtitles.
