According to him, the population of the capital is approximately 1.5 million people, which leads to a significant excess of the number of students in schools over their designed capacity.
- In the Sverdlovsk district, there are 35 educational institutions where 66,747 children study instead of the planned 29,732.
- The First May district includes 27 schools designed for 20,962 students, but in reality, 58,000 children are being educated there.
- The Oktyabr district has 22 schools with a designed capacity of 23,021 students, while the actual number of students is 44,788.
- The Lenin district has 36 schools designed for 30,402 students, but 91,000 people are studying there.
These data were presented in the context of discussing the agreement between Kyrgyzstan and the Saudi Development Fund regarding the second phase of the "Construction of State Schools" project.
As part of this project, Kyrgyzstan will receive $50 million for 25 years at an annual interest rate of 1.5%. These funds will be allocated for the construction of five new schools in Bishkek, the addition of seven buildings to existing educational institutions, and the construction of two new schools in the Chui region.
In the first phase of this project, 28 schools and 2 preschool institutions were built.
The deputies have already approved the draft law on the ratification of the agreement in the first reading.
