From January 23 to 25, a national judo championship for men and women will take place in Osh, at the "Gazprom – for Children" sports and health complex. The tournament will feature the best judo athletes from Kyrgyzstan, who will compete for medals and the opportunity to join the national team.
Female athletes will participate in weight categories up to 48, 52, 57, 63, 70, 78 kg and over 78 kg. Men will compete in weight categories up to 60, 66, 73, 81, 90, 100 kg and over 100 kg.
The main goal of this championship is to form the national judo team for 2026. The tournament will also serve as an important stage for selecting promising athletes for the national reserve team, which will help strengthen sports unity among youth and promote a healthy lifestyle, as well as improve the skill level of the participants.
The championship is organized by the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Directorate for Olympic Sports, and the Judo Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
