The Ministry of Construction, Architecture, and Housing and Communal Services of Kyrgyzstan commented on the situation regarding the collapse of the roof of a new school built with the support of the "As-Salam" fund.

This incident occurred in the village of Min-Bulak in the Tyup district of the Issyk-Kul region, where the school named after Islam Kasmaliev is located, designed for 150 student places. Construction began in 2023, with the contractor being the company OsOO "Energy-Nur Stroy".

According to the Ministry of Construction, the school has not yet been put into operation. During the roof installation at the final stage of construction, the facility had not yet been accepted by the Issyk-Kul Regional Department of the State Architectural and Construction Control. The contractor had been issued multiple warnings.

The incident occurred on the night of January 18, 2026, when heavy snowfall led to the collapse of part of the roof.

As a result of the incident, the contracting organization OsOO "Energy-Nur Stroy" received a written warning and was required to restore the building. The Ministry reported that the roof has already been fully repaired. The company was also fined 200,000 soms, and the issue of suspending its license will be considered at a commission meeting.

After the authorized bodies complete their inspection and receive a positive conclusion, the official commissioning of the facility is planned.
