“Similar sites with development prospects are also planned in other districts of the capital”

During today’s meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Zhyldyz Sadyrbaeva informed about the possible demolition of more than a hundred houses in the Lenin District of Bishkek due to planned road works.

She noted that residents of the district approached her with a collective letter expressing concern about the threat of losing their homes due to the planned extension of Sheraliyev Street from Akhunbaev to Gagarin, with a further connection to Termechikova. This section is included in the new master plan for the capital.

In response to these concerns, representatives of the city administration stated that the implementation of this project is not planned in the near future.

“The extension of this section was included in previously approved master plans developed during the Soviet era, as well as in the master plan for Bishkek for 2006-2025. Similar prospective sites are also planned in other districts of the city,” the municipality emphasized.

According to city administration representatives, these planning decisions are retained in the new master plan as long-term prospects for the development of the city’s street and road network. They urged residents to remain calm and rely only on official sources of information from authorized bodies.
