As a result of the work of the ombudsman, the rights of a girl from an orphanage in the Chui region have been protected, and she will now receive state benefits. Over 518,000 soms will be credited to her deposit account — this is the unpaid benefits for eight years, as reported by the institution's press service.
According to information received from the Ombudsman Institute in 2025, it became known that a number of orphans in orphanages in the Chui region had not received their entitled benefits. Among these children was a girl named M.B., born in 2008, who has been in the orphanage since 2017.
The girl’s disability was established back in 2015, when the Medical and Social Expertise Commission assigned her a benefit and recommended monitoring by a psychiatrist, as well as education in an inclusive program. However, after her transfer to the orphanage in 2017, the payments ceased due to the lack of a follow-up examination.
For eight years, no actions were taken by the responsible authorities to conduct a follow-up commission for the girl.
After Ombudsman Jamila Dzhamanbaeva appealed to the General Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Labor, an investigation was initiated. As a result, the Ministry of Labor took disciplinary action against the employees who committed violations and restored payments from 2017 until May 1, 2026.
