The State Center for Registration of Vehicles and Drivers, which is subordinate to the Presidential Administration, reported that the initial transitional period was set from January 15 to February 15. However, based on numerous requests from citizens, the authorities decided to extend it.
Thus, the duration of the benefit period is no longer limited to a specific date and will continue until further notice.
During the transitional period, old-style driver's licenses retain their legal force within the country. After its completion, such licenses will lose their validity and must be replaced with new samples.
In light of the increasing number of citizen inquiries, the state center urges the population not to panic and not to create a rush.
The extension of the preferential procedure for replacing driver's licenses allows citizens to calmly take advantage of the opportunity provided.
To expedite the process, citizens are recommended to:
- when visiting departments or submitting online applications, have their passport and an indefinite old-style driver's license with them;
- check for any outstanding administrative fines in advance and pay them if necessary, as unpaid fines may lead to delays in service.
Those whose driver's licenses are not registered in the "Tündük" system will need to personally visit the relevant branches to replace their documents. Other citizens are advised to process their replacements online to avoid visiting departments.
Information about the timelines and the next stages of the phased replacement of documents will be communicated through official channels and the media.
