As part of the digitalization program of the Water Resources Service, an automated information system called the "Unified Information System for Water" (AIS UISW) has been developed. This information was provided by the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan.
The main goal of the new system is to provide comprehensive management of water resources in the field of irrigation, which will improve planning, accounting, and monitoring of water supply, as well as ensure greater transparency in the use of water resources.
The AIS UISW integrates data on objects and participants of the irrigation fund, water users, water facilities, and irrigation systems into a single digital platform. This allows for planning water supply for irrigation, accounting and monitoring of water consumption, analyzing quantitative and qualitative characteristics of water, as well as generating the required reports.
The platform also includes geographic information technologies (GIS), which allow for maintaining spatial data on surface water resources, irrigation systems, water management facilities, and irrigated areas, taking into account the types of agricultural crops.
It is expected that the AIS "Unified Information System for Water" will be put into operation throughout Kyrgyzstan in early 2026. In the future, a phased update of the system is planned, increasing its functionality, automating public services, and implementing digital services for water users.
