In Kyrgyzstan, bloggers with more than 10,000 subscribers may be required to pay taxes

In Kyrgyzstan, a tax obligation may be introduced for bloggers who have more than 10,000 subscribers and earn income from advertising. This was reported by journalist Elaman Karymshakov on social media, posting a screenshot of a response from the Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy Marat Tagaev, addressed to one of the participants of the kurultai.
The letter states that the Ministry of Culture is currently working on a draft law titled "On Bloggers," which proposes the introduction of state control over their activities.

The document also emphasizes that bloggers with more than 10,000 subscribers who earn income from advertising may be required to pay taxes.
However, the press service of the ministry 24.kg noted that work on the draft law is still ongoing. "At the moment, it is unclear from how many subscribers bloggers will be subject to taxation. Therefore, it is premature to assert that this number will be 10,000. It is likely that by March, the draft law will be completed and presented for public discussion," the agency added.
