In 2025, veterinary activities covered more than 25 million heads of livestock

In 2025, a series of veterinary activities were conducted in the Kyrgyz Republic, covering 25 million 546 thousand animals. This was reported on the air of Birinchi Radio by Bakyt Sharapov, Deputy Director of the Veterinary, Pasture, and Feed Service under the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic.
He noted that out of the total number of animals, 23 million 537 thousand underwent preventive vaccinations, while 12 million 17 thousand were subjects of diagnostic studies. Additionally, 738 thousand animals received treatment for parasites.
“We achieved our planned indicators at 104 percent,” Sharapov added.
The Deputy Director also emphasized the strict veterinary control at livestock product markets, which helps prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
“Veterinary specialists constantly monitor the animals arriving at markets and slaughter points. Buyers have the right to request a veterinary certificate from the seller, confirming the control,” he clarified.
