Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan: The epidemiological situation regarding ARVI and influenza remains stable
During the meeting, current epidemiological data, as well as the burden on hospitals and the work of the primary care level in the context of seasonal increases in morbidity, were discussed.
According to information provided by the Department of Disease Prevention and Sanitary-Epidemiological Surveillance, there is a decrease in registered cases in the country.
If at the end of 2025 there were 15,043 cases of ARVI and influenza recorded, then in the first week of 2026, the number of cases decreased to 9,490, and from January 5 to January 8, 2026, 6,745 cases were registered.
Overall, the epidemiological situation remains stable, with monitoring of the situation being conducted daily in all regions of the republic.
According to information from the heads of children's hospitals and health coordinators, admissions to hospitals correspond to long-term data. However, part of the burden on medical institutions is formed by direct appeals from citizens to hospitals, bypassing the primary care level, despite the fact that duty shifts and patient reception are organized in all family medicine centers on weekends and holidays.
In this regard, the Minister of Health instructed to strengthen the sorting and routing of patients in family medicine centers for more effective distribution of the flow between different levels of medical care.
Additionally, the meeting emphasized the importance of preventive measures and informing the population.
