The Ministry of Health reported how many people fell ill with influenza and ARVI at the beginning of 2026.
At a meeting chaired by Minister Kanibek Dosmbetov, the current situation regarding ARVI and influenza was discussed.
According to data from the Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary-Epidemiological Surveillance, there is a recorded decrease in the number of registered cases compared to previous periods. In particular, at the end of 2025, there were 15,043 cases of ARVI and influenza reported, while from December 29, 2025, to January 4, 2026, there were 9,490 cases, and from January 5 to January 8, 2026, there were 6,745 cases.
The overall epidemiological situation remains stable, and monitoring continues in all regions of the country.
Leaders of children's hospitals and health coordinators noted that a significant portion of the burden on hospitals is due to citizens approaching directly, bypassing the primary healthcare level. On weekends and holidays, duty shifts and patient reception have been organized in all Family Medicine Centers across the republic.
Minister Kanibek Dosmabetov instructed to enhance the sorting and routing of patients in the FMC for more effective distribution of the patient flow between levels of medical care.
Additionally, the minister emphasized the need to strengthen sanitary-educational work and interaction with the media to clarify the routes of appeal and preventive measures against seasonal infections.
