A man with a gunshot wound found in the Sverdlovsk district of Bishkek

The case is being preliminarily considered as a suicide, an investigation is underway


On January 7, 2026, at approximately 11:00 AM, the "102" service of the Bishkek City Department of Internal Affairs received a report that a man had been found with a gunshot wound. The information was provided by a domestic worker, who noted that a pistol was found next to the body of the owner.

A rapid response investigative team was dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the body of a man, identified as Z.H., born in 1967, was found in the kitchen. A pistol of unknown make was found and seized under the body.

"Upon examination of the crime scene, the situation in the house remained undisturbed, and no signs of a struggle were found. An external examination of the body showed no other injuries besides the gunshot wound. Based on the collected materials, the incident is preliminarily classified as a suicide," the official statement reports.

At this time, necessary examinations have been appointed, and an investigation into all the circumstances of the tragedy is underway.
