In Kyrgyzstan, the coverage of prenatal observation for pregnant women has reached 91.7%

As of today, the healthcare system of the Kyrgyz Republic operates 2,167 maternity beds, as well as 741 gynecological beds and 521 beds for the treatment of pregnancy complications. This information was presented at a meeting attended by the Minister of Health Damirbek Osmonov, dedicated to the results of the perinatal service's work in 2025 and plans for the future until 2030.

The Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic reports that perinatal care is organized according to a three-level system, ensuring the continuity and consistency of medical services. Highly qualified support is provided by the National Center for Maternal and Child Health, the Kyrgyz Scientific Center for Human Reproduction, and the maternity ward of the Osh Interregional Hospital.

The level of prenatal observation for pregnant women remains stable at 91.7%. Work is also actively underway to improve infrastructure: new perinatal centers are being built in the Talas and Osh regions, making specialized medical care more accessible for women in these areas.

Furthermore, among the main priorities for the development of the perinatal service until 2030 are the following directions:

- optimization of obstetric and gynecological care, with an emphasis on prevention;

- improvement of the monitoring system for pregnant women and routing of patients;

- updating standards for antenatal observation with a focus on the quality of medical services;

- implementation of modern prenatal screening technologies;

- establishment of a genetic laboratory;

- development of family planning programs and pre-gravidar preparation for women;

- introduction of tele-consultations for regional medical institutions;

- strengthening the material and technical base of obstetric-gynecological and neonatal services.

The main goals remain to improve the quality of medical care for mothers and newborns, as well as to reduce mortality rates.
