In the Kyrgyz Republic, citizens are deceived by promises of healing with dietary supplements, which are not medicines

During the broadcast of the program "Elden Sobol," a representative of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, Aman Osmonov, emphasized that many herbal mixtures used by folk healers are not medical products, but merely dietary supplements (DS).

According to Osmonov, fraudsters deceive people by passing off dietary supplements as medicines and promising complete healing, which benefits them. He noted that for a dietary supplement to become a medicine, it must undergo a series of studies, including registration and scientific testing on animals and humans.

The specialist also added that before importing dietary supplements into the country, they must be tested in a laboratory for composition and effectiveness. The use of such supplements is only possible after obtaining a certificate of state registration.

“I would recommend that citizens first carefully check the information, ensure the presence of licenses and the legality of the activities of such individuals before turning to them,” concluded Aman Osmonov.
