In the Kyrgyz Republic, citizens are deceived by promises of healing with dietary supplements, which are not considered medicines

During the program "Elden Sobol" on the Kabar agency, the head of the licensing department of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, Aman Osmonov, reported that many herbal mixtures offered by folk healers are not medicinal products. These products are classified as dietary supplements (DS).

He emphasized that unscrupulous individuals deceive the population by passing off dietary supplements as medicines and promising complete healing. "For a dietary supplement to be recognized as a medicinal product, it must undergo a series of strict studies, including scientific trials on animals and humans, as well as registration," Osmonov clarified.

According to the specialist, before dietary supplements are imported into the country, they must undergo laboratory tests that confirm their composition and effectiveness. The use of such supplements is only permitted after obtaining the appropriate state registration certificate.

“I strongly recommend that citizens verify all information, ensure the presence of a license, and the legality of the activities of such individuals before approaching them,” added Aman Osmonov.
