An International Practical Conference titled "ABA of the 21st Century: Life Skills, Individuality, Values" has commenced in Bishkek. The event focuses on issues related to autism spectrum disorders (ASD), modern approaches to correction, family support, and the formation of an inclusive society.
Nazik Chekirova, the head of the Center for the Development and Correction of Children's Behavior "Ananai," noted that, unfortunately, there is an increase in the number of cases of early autism diagnosis in children; however, parents remain insufficiently informed on this issue.
She also stated that in Kyrgyzstan, the system of early diagnosis and modern correction methods are still not sufficiently developed.
According to her, it is critically important to begin correction as early as possible, preferably before the child reaches three years of age, to increase the chances of successful integration into society.
Chekirova emphasized that the main goal of the conference is to expand the knowledge of specialists and parents, introduce them to advanced methods, and share international experience. The conference is practical in nature, and each presentation is accompanied by real-life examples.
"We also plan to discuss the emotional state and burnout of parents raising children with special needs, as this requires significant resources," she added.
