Autism is one of the most relevant topics in modern medicine and education
On February 21, an international practical conference titled "21st Century ABA: Life Skills, Individuality, Values" will take place in Bishkek, focusing on issues related to autism spectrum disorders (ASD), advanced correction methods, family support, and the development of an inclusive society.
Autism is one of the most relevant topics in modern medicine and education. According to international studies, the number of children with ASD is steadily increasing, making early detection, support, and social adaptation particularly significant for society. In Kyrgyzstan, there is no statistical data on early autism diagnosis, but practice shows a rapid increase in ASD diagnoses among children. The conference will serve as an important platform for open dialogue among all those interested in mastering modern and effective methods of applied behavior analysis, as well as in creating an accessible and supportive environment for people with autism. Special attention will be given to interdisciplinary interaction and the exchange of practical experiences in modern ABA therapy: the formation of life skills, consideration of cultural context, family values, and the individuality of the child.
In Bishkek, about 50 correctional, educational, and developmental centers work with children with developmental delays. The conference also aims to unite the efforts of all interdisciplinary specialists to provide quality assistance to children with ASD.
The conference has a practical focus and will be beneficial for ABA specialists, supervisors, educators, doctors, speech therapists, defectologists, children's center managers, and parents: everyone who works with children with developmental differences and relies on scientifically-based methods.
Leading international and national specialists in the fields of medicine, psychology, and education, as well as representatives of the expert community, will participate in the conference. The headliner of the conference is Daria Li-Romanova (Clinical Psychologist, Supervisor AR, BCBA, IBA, CBA-S. Hong Kong). Experts from Russia have also been invited to the event.
National expertise will be represented by experts with extensive practical experience working with special children.
The format of the event includes presentations, a panel discussion, and discussions on current challenges faced by families and professionals. The conference organizers have launched a charitable campaign for the free participation of parents of children with ASD.
The conference emphasizes the importance of public attention to the topic of autism and the necessity of uniting efforts to form an inclusive society where every person has the right to understanding, support, and the realization of their potential.
