Turmush — There is a serious shortage of medical personnel in At-Bashy.
The head of the district's Center for General Medical Practice, Azim Azhybekov, told a Turmush correspondent about the current efforts to attract medical professionals to this field.
Azhybekov noted that in recent years, steps have been taken to improve conditions for young specialists. Previously, the hospital had a dormitory with 15 places, but last year a project was developed that secured funding of 2 million 800 thousand soms. As a result, the dormitory was expanded, adding 6 more places, and the facility now fully meets the necessary standards.
Additionally, the local government is considering the possibility of creating a social package for new specialists. This issue is currently under discussion, and if the deputies support it, it could significantly simplify the process of attracting personnel.
Also, according to a government decree, a twofold increase in salaries for medical workers is expected from April. In connection with this, a job fair is being prepared, which will take place in February at the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy. Special brochures are being developed to attract the necessary specialists.
At the moment, the At-Bashinsky district particularly needs the following specialists:
- neonatologist
- obstetrician-gynecologist
- cardiologist
- infectious disease specialist
- pediatrician
- family doctor
- phthisiatrist
- oncologist
- ENT doctor
- ophthalmologist
“Preliminary negotiations are underway. We expect that an ophthalmologist and an endocrinologist will join us in the fall,” he added.
To date, there are already 7 young doctors and 3 resident interns working in the district. However, the demand for medical personnel remains high,” Azhybekov concluded.
