According to information from the Ministry of Health, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey have decided to activate a program that allows citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic to receive treatment in Turkey. These efforts will be carried out through annual non-reimbursable quotas, the number of which is set at 150 places.

During a meeting between Health Minister Kanibek Dosmambetov and Turkish Ambassador Mekin Mustafa Kemal Okem, various aspects of cooperation were discussed, including issues of free treatment, development of medical infrastructure, training of personnel, and pharmaceutical interaction.

Minister Dosmambetov emphasized the importance of providing citizens of Kyrgyzstan with the opportunity to receive free treatment, as well as the need for improving the qualifications of medical workers, sharing experiences, and implementing joint projects. He also noted that, at the instruction of President Sadyr Japarov, work is underway to modernize the healthcare system and construct new medical facilities.

The Turkish ambassador confirmed readiness to expand cooperation, including organizing organ transplant surgeries at the Kyrgyz-Turkish hospital named after Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, internships for Kyrgyz specialists in Turkey lasting from 3 to 6 months, and joint educational and pharmaceutical initiatives. The effective use of quotas for the treatment of Kyrgyz citizens in Turkish medical institutions was also discussed.

The parties agreed on the necessity to intensify efforts to send Kyrgyz citizens for treatment in Turkey within the specified quotas: 100 places will be allocated through the Turkish embassy in Kyrgyzstan, and 50 quotas will be allocated through the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Particular attention was paid to the training of medical personnel. The Kyrgyz side expressed interest in internships not only for transplant surgeons but also for specialists in oncology, cardiac surgery, and other complex medical fields. The possibility of creating joint pharmaceutical production and technological cooperation was also considered, as reported in the press release.

Dosmambetov also highlighted Kyrgyzstan's interest in studying the operational models of multidisciplinary medical institutions in Turkey to apply these practices in their own country. He noted that a medical city is currently under construction, which requires studying modern approaches to the design, equipment, and management of medical complexes.

Furthermore, the minister added that the president actively supports the modernization processes of the healthcare system, the implementation of modern technologies, the improvement of medical specialists' qualifications, and the development of international cooperation, creating the necessary conditions for significant systemic transformations in this area.
