Khalisa, a resident of the village of Panfilov in the Panfilov district of the Chuy region, is engaged in the sale of fruit tree seedlings and junipers, earning 150,000 soms in two months.

A correspondent from Turmush visited her gardening business. She runs her business on a small plot along the Bishkek — Chaldovar road.
“I have been engaged in gardening for a quarter of a century, and at the moment I am observing great interest from clients in my seedlings,” she added.

The prices for quality seedlings, such as apple trees, cherries, and walnuts, range from 250 to 350 soms.

As for junipers, their cost varies depending on age and height. For example, a one-year-old seedling that is 50 cm tall costs 500 soms, while a two-year-old seedling reaching 1.5 meters costs 1,000 soms. Seedlings aged 4-6 years, with a height of 6 meters, can be purchased for 6,000 soms.

The work of growing and selling seedlings requires significant effort. “I pay attention to each client, explaining the specifics of plant care and planting methods,” she noted.

“I have enough seedlings, but not all of them are sold. What doesn’t sell, I take home, replant, and prepare for the next season. In March and April, I usually earn 150,000 soms,” Khalisa concluded.
