
Particular attention during the negotiations was given to the development of parliamentary diplomacy, the expansion of cultural, humanitarian, and political-economic interaction, as well as strengthening ties at the level of specialized committees.
Marlen Mamataliev emphasized that in recent years, the dynamics of interaction between Kyrgyzstan and the Republic of Korea has noticeably increased. He noted that the Jogorku Kenesh considers these relations a priority and has created a friendship group with the Korean side, which includes 22 deputies.
Additionally, issues of cooperation at international forums were discussed, particularly in the "Central Asia + Korea" format.
The Chairman also highlighted the need to improve trade and economic relations and expressed Kyrgyzstan's interest in cooperation in the fields of ecology, environmental protection, and addressing climate change issues. In this context, he invited the Korean delegation to participate in the II Global Mountain Summit "Bishkek+25".
Kim Sok Gi, for his part, noted that his visit to Central Asia was focused on Kyrgyzstan. He emphasized the importance of deepening inter-parliamentary interaction, especially between the relevant committees.
According to him, since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, a solid cooperation has been built between the two states, which needs to be developed for the effective implementation of previously reached agreements.
Moreover, he added that the opening of direct flights contributes to the activation of contacts between citizens and increases tourist interest in Kyrgyzstan.
