“We mainly have access only to Soviet films, while viewers prefer modern global hits”
Today, March 30, at a meeting of the committee on education, science, and culture, deputy Toktobubu Ashymbaeva raised an important issue regarding the lack of quality children's content in Kyrgyzstan.
“We mainly have access only to Soviet films, while viewers prefer modern global hits. For example, there is 'Harry Potter'. Can you provide quality translation and dubbing of such films for children?” she asked representatives of the Ministry of Culture.
In response to her request, the Ministry confirmed that it is already actively working in this direction. The National Television and Radio Corporation (NTRK) is also creating original content in the Kyrgyz language for a children's audience and is involved in the translation of foreign films.
