This decision was made to enhance the safety level of this strategic facility, as well as to regulate its operation and functioning.
The ban covers an area with a radius of 500 meters around the stadium, where the design, construction, reconstruction, or any other changes to structures taller than 20 meters (i.e., three stories) from the ground level are not permitted.
Some sources report that this rule does not affect the following facilities:
- the administrative building of the State Agency for Land Resources, Cadastre, Geodesy, and Cartography (6 stories);
- the administrative building of the state institution "Kyzmat" (6 stories);
- the park at the corner of Jayyl Baatyr and Ala-Archa streets (height of the Ferris wheel — 53 meters);
- the sports rehabilitation center (4 stories);
- the football complex (3 stories).
The "Bishkek Arena" stadium is a major sports facility under construction in Bishkek, designed to accommodate approximately 51,000 spectators. The complex is being built near the village of Orok and will become the largest football stadium in the country.
The project is being implemented in accordance with the international standards of FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation, which will open doors for hosting international matches and tournaments at this venue.
The completion of construction is scheduled for the end of August 2026.
