Deputy Dastan Bekeshev presented the initiative for this draft law.
He emphasized that the purpose of the document is to amend Article 33 of the Law on the Status of a Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh. Bekeshev explained that the project aims to clearly define the types of activities that deputies can engage in besides their main work, as well as to minimize the risks of unjustly depriving deputies of their mandates due to ambiguity in the interpretation of such concepts as "scientific," "pedagogical," and "creative" activities.
Committee members noted the need to consider all proposals from parliamentarians when preparing for the second reading and approved the draft law at the first stage.
