Kyrgyzstan and Korea Discussed Cooperation in Water Resource Management

The meeting between Erlis Akunbekov, the Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, and Kim Kwang-dzhe, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Kyrgyzstan, took place as part of discussions on bilateral cooperation issues. This information was provided by the government press service.

According to the press service's statement, the participants discussed the current state and future cooperation between the two countries in various fields, emphasizing the importance of agriculture and water resource management.



“During the negotiations, issues regarding the development of bilateral agreements were also discussed, which are planned to be addressed at the upcoming high-level international event scheduled for this year. It was emphasized that cooperation between the Ministry of Water Resources and Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan and Korea covers four key areas: livestock, seed production, food security, and water resource management. The parties discussed the possibility of implementing new joint projects,” the press release states.

Lim So-young, head of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Kyrgyzstan, and Kwang Seok Chu, director of the Korea International Agricultural Program Center (KOPIA) in Kyrgyzstan, also participated in the meeting. They expressed appreciation for the successful implementation of existing projects and confirmed their readiness for further cooperation.

In conclusion, Erlis Akunbekov and Ambassador Kim Kwang-dzhe agreed to continue productive cooperation and develop mutually beneficial partnerships.
