The Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Turkey discussed regional security issues

On March 7, 2026, in Istanbul, during an informal meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), a dialogue took place between Jeenbek Kulubaev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, and Hakan Fidan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.

During the negotiations, key aspects of bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey were discussed, as well as interaction within various international and regional organizations. Special attention was given to issues of mutual support in multilateral diplomacy and strengthening the strategic partnership between the two fraternal countries.

The ministers also exchanged views on important issues of international and regional security, including the situation in the Middle East. The Kyrgyz side provided information about the ongoing activities for the evacuation of Kyrgyz citizens from conflict zones and measures aimed at ensuring their safety.

Kulubaev also spoke about significant international events planned for 2026, including the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Kyrgyz Republic, the upcoming SCO Summit, and the Sixth World Nomad Games.

Fidan, in turn, shared information about the annual Antalya Diplomatic Forum and invited his Kyrgyz counterpart to participate in its activities, including speaking at one of the thematic sessions.

As a result of the meeting, both sides confirmed their readiness to continue strengthening Kyrgyz-Turkish cooperation and to activate political dialogue at all levels.
