
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Jeenbek Kulubaev, held bilateral talks with Hakan Fidan, the head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry. The meeting took place in Istanbul as part of an informal meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States.
During the discussions, the parties touched upon important aspects of bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey, as well as their interaction in international and regional structures. The ministers emphasized the need for mutual support within the framework of multilateral diplomacy and further deepening of the strategic partnership between the two fraternal nations.
Discussing security issues on the international and regional stage, the ministers exchanged views on the current situation in the Middle East. The Kyrgyz side noted the measures being taken to evacuate Kyrgyz citizens from conflict zones and ensure their safety.
Jeenbek Kulubaev also shared plans for significant international events to be held in Kyrgyzstan in 2026. Among these events are the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the country's independence, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, and the Sixth World Nomad Games.
Hakan Fidan, for his part, spoke about the upcoming Antalya Diplomatic Forum and invited the Kyrgyz minister to participate, including the possibility of speaking at one of the thematic sessions.
In conclusion of the meeting, the parties confirmed their interest in further developing Kyrgyz-Turkish cooperation and activating political dialogue at all levels.
