Kyrgyzstan organized a diplomatic reception in Geneva
On February 24 in Geneva, a diplomatic reception was held, organized by the Kyrgyz side as part of the 61st session of the UN Human Rights Council. The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported this event.

In his address, Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev highlighted the significance of Geneva as an important global diplomatic center. He emphasized that in the context of growing conflicts, humanitarian crises, and climate challenges, the work of the UN Human Rights Council represents "a necessary tool for dialogue and preventing systemic human rights violations" at the global level.

Kulubaev noted that Kyrgyzstan's third membership in this council, which will conclude in 2025, has led to "a commitment to human rights becoming a practical aspect of the country's state policy, both domestically and internationally."

The Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized that Kyrgyzstan will continue to be "a consistent supporter of international institutions, UN reform, and ensuring fair representation of countries in key bodies of the organization."

Additionally, he noted that thanks to "the political will of the leaders of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan," a long-standing border conflict in the Fergana Valley has been resolved, which has laid the foundation for increased security, trust, and dialogue in Central Asia.

Kulubaev also drew attention to Kyrgyzstan's active participation in preserving nomadic culture and promoting the global agenda for sustainable development in mountain regions. He invited all participants to the World Nomad Games in 2026 and to the Second Global Mountain Summit in 2027.

In conclusion of his speech, the minister assured representatives of UN member states that Kyrgyzstan will continue to follow "a multi-vector course aimed at protecting high standards of humanism and strengthening global peace, security, as well as ensuring fundamental human rights," as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.
