On March 7, a meeting of the foreign ministers of the countries that are part of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) will take place in Istanbul. The aim of this informal event is to strengthen cooperation among the member states and discuss current issues of both regional and global significance. This was reported by Daily Sabah, citing sources in Turkish diplomacy.

The meeting will be led by Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. Participants will include representatives from Azerbaijan, which currently chairs the OTS, as well as delegations from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. During the discussions, it is expected that the latest developments concerning the OTS will be reviewed and priority areas for work in the near future will be outlined.

In addition, detailed consultations on pressing global and regional challenges are planned. Hakan Fidan also intends to hold bilateral meetings with colleagues from other countries. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will receive the delegates at this meeting.

In his speech, Minister Hakan Fidan will emphasize the need to deepen cooperation among Turkic states in the context of a complex international situation and challenges related to ensuring peace and stability. He will also call for a unified position among Turkic countries to end conflicts and attacks affecting various regions and advocate for the activation of diplomatic efforts.

Furthermore, it is expected that the Turkish Foreign Minister will highlight the importance of preventing escalation of tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, stressing the need for dialogue and peaceful solutions.
Hakan Fidan will also present Ankara's priorities in the context of the new "OTS+" format, which aims to expand cooperation with third countries within the organization.
