The UNICEF organization welcomed the decree of the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, which introduces a unified monthly financial assistance program called "Bala Yrysy" for all children under three years of age. This step was highlighted in the organization's official statement.
UNICEF emphasized that this move demonstrates the Kyrgyz Republic's steadfast commitment to protecting children's rights and is a significant contribution to the development of early childhood education.
According to UNICEF data, expanding social protection for young children is one of the most effective means to combat child poverty and provide every child with better conditions for starting life.
Additionally, the organization reminded that according to the National Development Program of Kyrgyzstan until 2030, there are plans to reduce the child poverty rate from 33.1% to 25%, improve access to primary healthcare, and develop preschool education.
The introduction of the "Bala Yrysy" benefit will be an important milestone on the path to achieving these goals and strengthening the child rights protection system in the country.
UNICEF also noted that international experience shows that every dollar invested in early childhood can yield up to 13 dollars in the form of improved educational outcomes, better health, and reduced social inequality.
The organization expressed gratitude to the government of Kyrgyzstan for its attention to issues of supporting children and their families and confirmed its readiness to continue cooperation with national partners in implementing the "Bala Yrysy" program and developing the social protection system for children.
