According to lawyer Nurbek Toktakunov, Askat Zhetigen was released from the punishment isolation cell of correctional colony No. 27 after complaints and appeals were submitted to various authorities.

The head of the State Penitentiary Service Chyngyz Kozhoshev arrived at the colony, where he released Zhetigen and reminded the staff of the necessity to respect the rights of inmates and ensure humane conditions of detention.

The press service of the State Penitentiary Service of the Kyrgyz Republic confirmed that Kozhoshev indeed held a meeting with the staff and inmates, discussing the importance of adhering to internal regulations and human rights.

Earlier, in his letter, Zhetigen stated that on March 2, the head of the operational department of the colony, Ulan, sent him to the SHIZO, threatening him with "harsh conditions" and accusing him of inciting among the inmates. The poet denied these accusations, calling them "absolute lies," and claimed that he had never supported the criminal world. The Ombudsman’s Institute also began to investigate the situation, while the State Penitentiary Service rejected the accusations, emphasizing that the information about violations of the inmate's rights was untrue.
